FAQ

Can you become my GP ?

Yes, I take new patients. I usually however don’t have room for new patients urgently.

In Belgium, you are free to choose your general practitioner. You can formalize this relationship through a Global Medical File (DMG). This file contains your health data (e.g. vaccinations, allergies, medical history, reports, etc.) and is managed by a general practitioner of your choice. The doctor is paid for each year that the file is kept (32 euros per year) and you will be better reimbursed (2 euros per consultation) for your visits.

How can I get my results ?

Most of the time, the results of an exam are sent to the doctor who prescribed it. If I did prescribe the exam, you can call me during the consultation hours (see below ). If necessary, I can send them to you through the new platform helena.care  . It does require however an identity card reader or the application itsme. I should be able to register you myself if I manage your DMG.

How much costs a consultation ?

The tarif for a consult is 32 euros, mostly reimbursed by the mutuelle. As of September 2022, I will charge the mutuelle what they used to reimburse the patient. This means the patient will only have to pay 1 (BIM status), 4 (patient with a DMG) or 6 euros (no BIM nor DMG) per consultation.

If you do not have a belgian mutuelle but another insurance, I will ask you to pay 35 euros.

Money concerns should not be a reason not to consult. If you have financial difficulties, please mention it during the consult.

You can pay cash or via bancontact application.

Can I come now ?

Since the pandemy, the consultations are only WITH appointment.

How do I make an appointment ?

For a non urgent appointment (=not on the same day), please try to make the appointment through the online agenda.  If it’s not possible in an acceptable delay, call me at 0496677675. Please note that priority goes to my patients.

What is your specialty ?

I’m a general practionner but I have experience managing simple gynecological problems and doing pap tests. I have followed brief medical training on Alcology and environmental health.

Do you make home calls ?

Yes but with some limitations : you must be a patient of mine ( if the home call is urgent) and live in Etterbeek. Please call as early as possible and in any case before noon for a visit on the same day.

Do you perform consultations through the phone/video ?

In general,the answer is no. I will consider a teleconsultation only if the patient is known to me and cannot move and that I cannot go see them and that a physical exam is not needed or if he/she is Covid positive.

Do you perform check ups ?

Yes but please keep in mind that screening a general population for everything is not possible. If you have symptoms or particular concerns please let me know. General population screening is limited to : pap test (for women) after 25 yo, rectocolic cancer and breast cancer after 50. A check up is however a good occasion to assess your health risk factors (blood pressure, body mass index, physical activity, tobacco, alcohol… )

I have decided not to perform long check ups asked by private insurance anymore.
